Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Broad-based electronics hardware engineer with management experience who can oversee/direct subordinates
  • Advanced Communications Controller managing the RF interface upload/ download links
  • Data hardware management, including internal spacecraft, spacecraft to spacecraft, spacecraft to ground, and ground to mission control networks.
  • Analyze concepts on various mission studies and report results to management and at reviews
  • Support the analysis of spacecraft systems avionics needs
  • Attain information from applicable sources to define avionics requirements and assist the test group in verification of requirements
  • Develop a C&DH (command data handling system), with focus on Testability, Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Produce ability
  • Work with suppliers and vendors to verify their deliveries are meeting specifications with appropriate certifications
  • Support new spacecraft development efforts
  • Evaluate vendor & COTS (commercial off the shelf), subsystem components including generating and reviewing specification, reviewing designs, procuring components coordinating testing & verification and generation of test report
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as Avionics Managing Engineer
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in applicable engineering or science field
  • Other duties as assigned

Since 2006, we have successfully launched and deployed three expandable space structures, to include a human-rated module attached to the International Space Station. Presently, we are working on the research, design, and development of our next generation of human-rated expandable habitats, the B330 spacecraft. We are also currently partnered with NASA to assist with developing commercial and deep space habitation concepts as part of their NextSTEP (Next Space Technologies for Exploration Partnerships) Habitation Systems program.
